Users
The Users tab lists everyone with a login on the account. Admins can add, change and delete users; other users see the list read-only.
The list
Unverified means the user has not yet opened the confirmation link sent to their email address. It also shows after an admin changes the address, until the new one is confirmed.
Add new user
Admincan do everything, including managing users, the profile, billing and closing the account.Usercan only do what you grant on the user's detail page. A new user has no permissions until you grant them.
Single Server Access is no longer offered for new users. To limit someone to certain servers, give them User and grant Servers for those servers.
The address must not be in use on any Gigahost account, and @gigahost.no addresses are refused. The new user gets an email with a link to set their password, valid for 24 hours.
User detail page
Leave Password empty to keep the current one. A new password must be at least 5 characters, and passwords found in known breaches are refused. Changing the email marks the user Unverified until they open the link sent to the new address.
The last admin, and your own user, cannot be changed away from Admin.
Permissions for User level
The permissions work as for API keys, including My account for the Account section. Update user » saves them; there is no separate save button.
Single Server Access
Users who already have Single Server Access keep it. Once you change such a user to Admin or User, it cannot be set back.
WARNING
Assigning a server to a Single Server Access user gives them complete control of it, including reboot, stop/start and reinstall.
Re-send password and delete
Re-send password generates a new password for the user and emails it to them.
You cannot delete yourself, and you can delete another admin only while the account has more than one. Deleting a user removes their server assignments and ends their active sessions.
TIP
To let someone from another company work in your account without creating a login for them, use Access instead of adding a user.
